JOBSAVER GRANT

NSW Government COVID-19 JobSaver Grant

The COVID-19 JobSaver Grant is now open for applications.

Please note, this is different to the Business Grant that opened last week. You may be eligible for both the Business Grant and JobSaver

COVID-19 JobSaver Grant
If you’re a business, sole trader or not-for-profit organisation in NSW and you've been impacted by the recent COVID-19 restrictions, you may be eligible for ongoing support through the JobSaver Grant.

To be eligible for the grant, you must:

  • have an active Australian Business Number (ABN)
  • demonstrate your business was operating in NSW as at 1 June 2021
  • have had total annual Australian wages of $10 million or less as at 1 July 2020
  • have had an aggregated annual turnover between $75,000 and $50 million (inclusive) for the year ended 30 June 2020 (if your business turnover is below $75,000 there is a MicroBusiness Grant that we will send a separate update about)
  • have experienced a decline in turnover of 30% or more due to the Public Health Order over a minimum 2-week period within the Greater Sydney lockdown (commenced 26 June) compared to the same period in 2019
  • have business costs for which there is no other government support available
  • maintain your employee headcount as at 13 July 2021 (where you are a business with employees) for the period you receive JobSaver payments.
  • If your business does not have employees (such as a sole trader), the business must be the primary source of income for the associated person (e.g. if you are an employee of another business which is your main income, and have a side business, you won’t be eligible)

The level of ongoing support available will be equivalent to 40% of the weekly payroll for work performed in NSW:

  • Minimum payment will be $1,500 per week
  • Maximum payment will be $10,000 per week
  • For non-employing businesses that are eligible (e.g., sole traders), the payment will be $1,000 per week

The weekly payroll amount should be determined by the Business Activity Statement (BAS) most recently lodged with the ATO before 26 June that falls within the 2020-21 financial year (for most businesses, this will be the March 2021 BAS).

If your business is eligible, JobSaver can be used to cover business costs incurred from 18 July 2021, which may include:

  • Salaries and wages
  • Utilities and rent
  • Financial, legal or other advice
  • Marketing and communications
  • Perishable goods
  • Other business costs

If you already have a letter from us for your decline in turnover, you can use this again for this application
